White Tara Mantra Mandala Thangka – 56×56 cm, Fine Grade · ET-6315
At the centre, White Tara sits on a lotus above water before a temple with gold-coloured roofs and pink walls, her right hand on her knee in the gesture of giving and her left at her heart holding the stem of a pink lotus that opens at her shoulder, with an eye on her forehead, a blue halo and green scarves.
The eight auspicious symbols, drawn in white line work among gold-coloured scrolls on blue, circle her inside a band of green motifs on red and gold, and rings of white mantra script circle out across a ground that shades from red to black.
A rim of white scrolls closes the circle, with red and blue peonies drawn in white line work in the four black corners, inside an orange-red border.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas.
Size: 56 × 56 cm (22.0 × 22.0 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
About Mantra Mandala
A mantra mandala arranges the syllables of a mantra, most often Om Mani Padme Hum, in rings around a central seed syllable. Each ring is lettered by hand, and the finest are painted in fine gold-coloured script on black.
