Dozens of concentric rings of Tibetan mantra script, painted in gold-coloured line work on black, circle out from a small syllable at the centre.
A broad gold-coloured border of lotus petals and fine feather-like patterning closes the circle, and gold-coloured peonies, scrollwork and auspicious symbols fill the four black corners.
This painting is one of a small set painted to the same design; each is painted by hand, so details differ slightly from piece to piece. The photo shows this piece.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas. Unmounted: it comes rolled, ready to frame or to have mounted.

A mantra mandala arranges the syllables of a mantra, most often Om Mani Padme Hum, in rings around a central seed syllable. Each ring is lettered by hand, and the finest are painted in fine gold-coloured script on black.
